- Standard reseller item → 1.0
- Slow mover → 0.3–0.5, or order on demand
Example: a shop sells 20 pcs/day of a 3/8 JIC adapter, and its China supplier takes 35 days. Buffer = 20 × 35 × 1.0 = 700 pcs. That's the level you reorder to, not below.
For slow movers, skipping buffer entirely and using a reliable fast replenishment partner is usually cheaper than holding dead inventory.

- Dead stock sitting > 12 months → you overstocked C-items.
